Johnson
Wright performed a remediation engineering evaluation and forensic
investigation of a former metal plating operation in Southern
California. The property owners had submitted a claim for over $3
million from their insurance company for past and future
environmental costs associated with investigating and remediating
the site. Johnson Wright reviewed the technical information
concerning the site and interviewed regulatory personnel. Using
this information, Johnson Wright developed a site-specific future
cost model to evaluate the potential future costs associated with
the site. Johnson Wright also designed and coordinated an
investigation program to collect site-specific data to refute the
owners' claims that the release at the site was sudden and
accidental. Using Johnson Wright's work, the insurance company
was able to negotiate a favorable settlement.
