Peter
Johnson is a Registered Professional Engineer with over 21
years of experience in the environmental industry. Mr.
Johnson began his career as an environmental regulator with
the state of California in 1981. In this capacity he
was responsible for compliance monitoring, design review,
permit writing and enforcement for chemical facilities,
landfills, metal plating companies and semi-conductor
facilities.
Additionally, Mr. Johnson assisted in the development of the
first comprehensive semi-conductor investigation program for
the state of California. He was the lead state
engineer for the Fairchild and IBM groundwater
investigations and remediations, as well as numerous other
projects. Mr. Johnson was the water quality emergency
response engineer for the South Bay Area. He was also
responsible for developing the UST program for the San
Francisco Bay Area, which became a model for the state of
California. Mr. Johnson developed technical and
regulatory documentation, assisted in the drafting of state
laws, and provided input to the USEPA regarding the
development of the Federal UST program. Mr. Johnson
also served as technical resource for other environmental
regulators from California as well and numerous other
states.
After
entering private practice in 1988, Mr. Johnson implemented
all phases of environmental projects, including
investigations, design, regulatory negotiations, remedial
program implementation and project management. He has
extensive experience developing sound, strategically
effective programs ranging from single sites to entire
corporate portfolios.
Mr.
Johnson has also performed insurance claim audits for
numerous facilities, many in the chemical industry, and has
worked extensively on claims made to reinsurers. His
experience includes all phases of environment project
management and implementation, as well as the complete
spectrum of activities from the initial audit of a claim
through to the resolution of the matter with reinsurance
companies. Mr. Johnson has been the lead expert
witness in mediations and arbitrations, and has provided
court testimony.
