Mr. Marsden has over 20 years of consulting experience on environmental projects, including assessment and remediation, project management, litigation support, regulatory compliance, and insurance claim evaluation.  His diverse experience covers environmental pollutants such as solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, lead, arsenic, chromium, MGP wastes and pesticides in both soil and groundwater. Mr. Marsden has conducted evaluations of surface water and groundwater interaction using analytical tools including groundwater geochemistry, stable isotopes, hydrostratigraphic interpretation and aquifer test analysis. He assisted in the design and installation of soil and groundwater remediation systems and supervised extensive field programs and analysis of groundwater flow and transport models.  

Mr. Marsden has managed litigation support for cases involving allocation of responsibility, insurance claims, and owner/tenant disputes over sites affected by solvents, metals, MGP wastes and fuel leaks.  Mr. Marsden has coordinated efforts between attorneys and assisted in case strategy development and trial preparation.

At Johnson Wright, Mr. Marsden supports Private Sector clients and counsel in evaluating the technical and financial basis of environmental claims.  He works closely with attorneys by developing technical strategies as well as conducting analyses for subjects such as timing and location of contaminant releases, contaminant transport, assessing the reasonableness and necessity of environmental costs, and developing future cost estimates at contaminated sites.  Mr. Marsden draws on over two decades of environmental consulting experience in the areas of soil, groundwater and sediment investigation and remediation associated with a variety of pollutants.  He has reviewed and analyzed environmental sites ranging from mining sites and chemical manufacturing facilities to dry cleaning facilities and underground storage tank sites. 

Mr. Marsden has diverse project management experience for both Public and Private Sector clients including Department of Defense (DOD), insurance companies, energy industry, and manufacturing companies. He has extensive regulatory compliance experience representing client interests with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and has experience working with Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under both CERCLA and RCRA. Mr. Marsden has successfully established regulatory buy-in and cooperation with projects, streamlining the review and approval process, reducing monitoring and reporting requirements, greatly reducing project expenses.  Mr. Marsden has conducted community outreach initiatives for several projects.
