John Kiefer has over 30 years of environmental engineering
experience. As a registered Professional Engineer, he has worked on
projects involving insurance cost recovery, remedial cost analysis,
hazardous waste litigation, environmental management, and water
quality assessments. He has reviewed the remedial scope and cost of
environmental activities at facilities in the pharmaceutical,
chemical, mining/mineral processing, petroleum, agricultural,
pesticides, plastics, paint, railroad, pipeline, landfill, and
hazardous waste disposal and recycling industries. Over the past 17
years, Mr. Kiefer has focused most of his time on cases involving
environmental cost recovery, particularly cases requiring the audit
of both past and future environmental cost claims made by insured
parties against their insurance companies. He has extensive
experience cost auditing and categorization, and determination of
whether or not the costs are recoverable by the insured.
